These images are outlines. They do not show landscaping, roofs or windows. They illustrate the height and density of housing that is proposed for what is presently largely open space.
They were drawn by the distinguished architect and KWAG spokesperson, the late Geoffrey Jarvis of Baldernock. »
The Local Plan requires that the Kilmardinny site be developed according to a "Masterplan". A masterplan should illustrate the three-dimensional appearance of the groups of buidings, particularly to inform the public. The developers would provide only what Architecture and Design Scotland described as a "zoning diagram", and so for the Public Local Inquiry, Geoffrey prepared these outline block drawings.

Note that zones 9a - 9f are all housing.
A masterplan "describes and maps an overall development concept, including present and future land use, urban design and landscaping, built form, infrastructure, circulation and service provision. It is based upon an understanding of place and it is intended to provide a structured approach to creating a clear and consistent framework for development".
